2. NEZU INSTITUTE OF FINE ARTS

+81(0)334002536 www.nezu-muse.or.jp Reopened after 4 years of remodeling by architect Kuma Kengo. Nezu's holdings of Japanese and other Asian pre-modern arts form the core of the museum collection. Today it comprises more than 7,000 objects including calligraphy, painting, sculpture, ceramics, lacquer, metalwork, bamboo crafts and textiles. The museum is set in the spacious traditional-style garden with pond are several teahouses. You can take a good 10-minute walk through the Japanese Zen garden, a relaxing break from Omotesando's shopping madness.
